# Think-Act FAQ

This FAQ explains how Think-Act works, what it can do today, and where connectors or enterprise features are required.

## Product Basics

### What is Think-Act?

Think-Act is a Windows desktop AI workspace for writing, OCR, document intelligence, screen recording, skills, and controlled agent workflows.

### Is it a chatbot?

No. It uses chat-style input, but it is designed for desktop workflows, documents, recordings, skills, and tool-connected actions.

### Who is it for?

It is for professionals and common users who want help with writing, document work, repetitive tasks, screen-recorded procedures, and safer AI automation.

## Agent Workspace

### What does the agent do?

The agent accepts a plain-language task, uses enabled skills and tools, and returns an answer with evidence or tool observations where available.

### What is a success goal?

A success goal defines what must be true before the agent reports completion. It is useful for tasks that need verification.

### Can the agent act in other apps?

Only when the required connector or tool exists, is enabled, and is allowed by policy.

## OCR And Documents

### Can Think-Act read screenshots?

Yes. OCR can extract text from screenshots and copied images where supported.

### Can it process scanned PDFs?

Yes. OCR and document workflows are designed for scanned and image-based content.

### Can it extract invoice or contract fields?

Yes, but important finance or legal outputs should be reviewed by a qualified person.

## Screen Recorder

### What is the screen recorder for?

It helps capture workflows and turn them into summaries, transcripts, SOPs, bug reports, and reusable skills.

### Is it only for videos?

No. The value is the documentation and reusable workflow that can be generated from the recording.

### Should I record sensitive content?

No. Avoid credentials, private messages, customer data, and regulated content unless your organization allows it.

## Writing Assistant

### Can I use it in any app?

It is designed for desktop writing workflows using selected text, clipboard content, copied images where supported, or prompt-only mode.

### What is prompt-only mode?

Prompt-only mode ignores clipboard content and sends only your written request.

### Can it send messages automatically?

Only if an approved connector exists and security policy allows it. Otherwise it drafts content for review.

## MCP, Skills And Connectors

### What is MCP?

MCP is a protocol that lets an agent call tools exposed by a server. Local MCP servers run on your device and may require Node.js, npx, Python, or other runtimes.

### Are local MCP packages safe?

Not by default. Third-party packages can run local code and may access files, credentials, networks, or apps exposed to them. Install only what you trust.

### What are skills?

Skills are local playbooks that guide how the agent should perform a workflow. They do not replace missing tools.

### Are Cloud MCP and A2A available now?

No. They are planned enterprise features and should be treated as not implemented for this release.

## Security And Privacy

### Does Think-Act expose every tool to the agent?

No. Only enabled and healthy tools should be exposed.

### What happens when a tool fails?

It should be disabled and excluded from available tool calls until the user fixes it and enables it again.

### Can I use private models?

Where configured, Think-Act can use local or private endpoints for sensitive workflows.
